For our professionals, that means keeping our clients at the center of everything we do while also maintaining a collegial and collaborative environment in which everyone can contribute, develop relationships and further build their business.  We have an immediate opportunity for a Financial Planner in our Private Wealth Management business.  The position is based in our New York office.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing:

 

  • Playing a key role on a client-facing team providing support to Relationship Managers and their clients with sophisticated financial planning, sales and white-glove client service, and acting as the point person to on-board new clients to the Lenox Personal CFO Platform.  This includes meeting with clients to perform a fact find, gathering documents, preparing and presenting a financial plan, and following up to execute on the financial planning recommendations.
  • Utilizing knowledge and experience in the areas of comprehensive estate planning, insurance & risk management, investments, retirement planning, tax planning, philanthropy, and educational planning to develop high-value holistic financial plans.
  • Manage a book of clients so that the clients are actively engaged in the planning process and have an exceptional client experience.  This would include connecting with clients regularly and taking every opportunity to add value to the relationship. 
  • Confidently lead client review meetings.
  • Maintain a comprehensive list of financial planning action items that includes all current outstanding planning items for the client. 
  • Develop relationships with Relationship Managers, as well as external business partners, to help drive new Personal CFO business.
  • Pitch perspective clients on the benefits of the CFO platform in collaboration with the Relationship Manager. 
  • Consistently and proactively follow up with clients to insure timely execution of all planning strategies.
  • Manage the workflow and prioritize the focus of Financial Planners, Financial Planning Associates, and Team Support Coordinators to ensure quality and timeliness of assigned work while simultaneously developing their planning and client service skills to assume responsibility for more advanced roles at Lenox.  This includes providing mentoring, coaching, training, and providing constructive feedback throughout their development.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

 

You will have a bachelor’s degree and must have your CFP designation along with 5+ years of experience as a financial planner. Prior experience working with a large client base with direct client interaction on financial planning matters required. You will have a strong understanding of comprehensive estate planning, insurance & risk management, investment management, retirement planning, tax planning, philanthropy and educational planning. You will have technical proficiency in developing customized financial plans and a working knowledge of investment management, asset classes, global market happenings and diversification strategies. You will be detail-oriented with good multi-tasking & follow-up skills, excellent administrative and organizational skills and exceptional oral and written communication capabilities. You will be able to work constructively and collaboratively with a high producing sales team, asset managers and cross-departmental partners.
